Wash Day: Week 11

Hello Friends,

This week I experimented big time with the products I used in my wash day. Nothing like a little re-vamping to make things interesting. So without further ado here's my wash day.

Products Used:
  • Tresemme touchable softness Shampoo

  • Suave Almond + Shea Butter Conditioner
  • Healthy Sexy Hair Leave in Conditioner
  • Chi 44 iron guard Heat Protection
  • Great Value Green Tea
  • Macadamia Deep Repair Masque

Wash:

1) As I said above I wanted to try something new. I was tired of using the same shampoo/conditioner week after week. So I dug through the old shampoos laying around and found the Tresemme touchable softness shampoo and decided to try it out. Although it does contain sulfates, I did not feel as if it dried my hair out like the Eden shampoo I used about two weeks back. My hair still retained its softness, just like the bottle said and without the residue.

2) After washing the shampoo out of my hair I went about using some green tea. I had brewed two bags of tea while I was in the shower then once I got out proceeded to pour half of the brew it into a spray bottle. After I felt I left the tea on for a appropriate amount of time I hopped back into the shower and washed it out then conditioned my hair with the Suave Almond + Shea Butter Conditioner.

3) The conditioner mentioned above was SO wonderful, there will definitely be a review on this stuff in the future, it left my hair that felt slightly dry from the tea so soft and moisturized. After I washed out the conditioner, I used the Macadamia Deep Repair Masque, and although it isn't required I used heat for the first time. My hair soaked up this masque like it just got done walking in the desert, there was however one spot that the masque just sat ontop of which was slightly disappointing but it was probable from the way I applied the heat.

5) After I washed out the masque I then blow dried my hair (after detangling) on warm hair and it came out soft, fluffy and smelling good. With practically no hairs shed, (Thank you tea).

Time for a trim!?

Hello Friends,

I finally decided it was time for a trim on, well as you can see below it's more of a cut. I went to my local Mastercuts because I was not feeling spending almost 30 dollars to go Regis and get maybe a 1 inch cut off. Which was fine with me considering it's probably been about 9-10 months since my hair even saw the glimmer of a pair of clippers.

I washed my hair the same day I got it cut so this posting is a little late getting up, you can see that post here, and here are my end results. The lady that cut my hair was surprised at how bad my ends were and I agreed with her. I was holding on to length and my hair was not healthy at all, hopefully with this fresh start will allow my nape to catch up with the rest of my hair cause it's slowly retaining length. And also I feel better and my hair feels better so the couple inches I lost are worth not having to look at that ugly W shape my hair was doing.

Also the gap will slowly disappear, hopefully, as my nape does it's thang ;)

I'm happy with the cut and feel like my ends will finally stop breaking and it'll be a nice transition from having crunchy dry ends pop back up 2 days after wash day.

Wash Day: Week 7

Hello Friends, this post was meant to go up yesterday cause that's when it happened (oopsy)

Products Used:
  • Shea Moisture Anti-Breakage Masque

  • Designline Ultimate Radiance Shampoo
  • Designline Ultimate Radiance Conditioner
  • Designline Ultimate Radiance Condition
  • Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Renewal
  • Sweet Almond Oil
  • Chi 44 iron guard Heat Protection
  • English Breakfast Black Tea

Wash:

1) Nothing unusual here just my typical first steps, with the Designline shampoo and conditioner, I'm eventually going to switch these out for something else but since I have a the salon size it makes since that I have gotten so many washes out of this.

2) I tried something new friends! I brewed up some English Black tea and put it in a spray bottle and sprayed this all over my head hanging over the sink, I expected this to make my hair really stiff like I've read however my hair was still moisturized, some hair came out on my fingers but other then that my hair reacted well with the tea I believe.

3) After washing the tea out I put the Biotin Shea Moisture Masque on my hair and ALOT of hair came out, I was slightly disappointed, this is where this wash day turns to the a bad and good.

4) After washing the masque out of my hair, I detangled with the oils above, and blow dried on warm heat because by that time I decided to trim my hair right after.

Stay tuned for that bad boy, you'll be surprised friends

My hair wasn't feeling so hot during this wash day, it was still pretty dry even after the deep conditioner so I leaned towards trimming off my hair.

Tea Rinses!?

Hello Friends,

I have a new idea.

After going about the forums, youtube channels and some of my own family members, I've decided that I wanted to try out Tea Rinses. I've read that they have A LOT of benefits to strengthening your hair's overall appearance, texture and even color.

I've been experiencing a ton of breakage when I go to moisture and seal my hair at night and it's beginning to bother me. I'm also thinking of in the next couple weeks, or even this weekend that I'll stop into my local salon and get my ends trimmed, they have been bothering me for the past couple months, it will become dry, cracked and overall just nasty but before I cut off those ends, stylists tell me they are healthy but who knows, I want to try to tea rinses to see if they improve the overall health of my ends.

Can't have a healthy hair journey with raggedy ends.

So I'll update on what happens with the tea rinses in my upcoming wash days, along with some new goodies I'm also thinking of picking up while I'm there to make my wash day even better.
